Rewa Football Club Boosts Squad with New Goalkeeper Ahead of Champions League

Rewa Football Club has made a significant addition to its squad by signing James Do’oro, the second goalkeeper from the Solomon Islands, as they prepare for the upcoming OFC Men’s Champions League. This strategic move was confirmed by Rewa FA President Nazil Buksh, who explained that the 29-year-old Do’oro will join the team in Honiara, Solomon Islands, aimed at fortifying their goalkeeping options following the departure of Isikeli Sevanaia during the January transfer window.

Currently, the team only had one goalkeeper, Mohammed Alzar Alam, which necessitated the signing of Do’oro to ensure a competitive spirit within the squad. Buksh mentioned that the goalkeeping position will be rotated depending on the matches and the players’ performance during training sessions.

Following the OFC Champions League, which is set to run from March 30 to April 12, 2025, Do’oro will continue with Rewa for the remainder of the national football season.

This signing aligns well with Rewa’s ongoing efforts to strengthen their team, especially as they gear up for a challenging tournament in a tough group featuring renowned clubs from New Zealand, Tahiti, and New Caledonia. Fans are optimistic that the inclusion of experienced players like Do’oro will enhance the team’s performance and contribute to a successful journey in the tournament.

As Rewa Football represents Fiji in this prestigious competition, the sight of new talents joining the team brings renewed hope and excitement among supporters, paving the way for potential victories and showcasing the increasing level of football in the region.
