Rewa FC is focusing on maintaining their competitive stance in the Extra Premier League as they deal with a rigorous schedule of matches, especially since returning from the OFC Men’s Champions League in April. Coach Roderick Singh addressed the challenge of playing multiple games over weekends, highlighting that while this situation is tough, it should not be used as an excuse as they aspire for the top league spot.
Currently sitting in second place on the league table with 16 points, Rewa FC is keen on maximizing points from their upcoming matches. They are closely monitoring the performance of Labasa, who are ahead by four points. To manage player fatigue during this demanding period, Singh indicated that the coaching staff is effectively rotating the squad.
This week, Rewa’s fixtures include hosting Nadi at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori on Friday at 3 PM, followed by a game against Tavua on Sunday at the same venue. These matches hold significant weight as they aim to solidify their position and qualify for the upcoming Bic Fiji FACT tournament at the end of the month.
In addition to Rewa’s fixtures, other league games slated for the weekend include Labasa hosting Nasinu and Lautoka facing Nadroga, building excitement among fans and showcasing the competitive spirit of the teams.
The Delta Tigers are showing resilience and determination in their pursuit of league success, and their commitment is inspiring not just for fans but also for young aspiring footballers in Fiji. With upcoming opportunities to prove themselves, Rewa FC is poised to make a strong impression in the league.
