Rewa FC is gearing up for the 2026 season with the daunting task of replacing nine key players who have moved to the OFC Pro League. As they prepare to start their campaign, the team is set to face Labasa in the Champion versus Champion match on the first of next month.

Head coach Priyant Manu has been putting the team through rigorous training in recent weeks, concentrating on developing younger talents to fill the gaps left by their experienced players. Despite the challenges in finding the right team formations, Manu expresses confidence that the squad will rise to meet these challenges.

Manu himself is stepping into a significant role, having taken over from Rodeck Singh, who left behind a successful legacy at the club. The coach is aware of the hurdles ahead, particularly with the loss of several crucial players, including centre back Gabriel Matanisiga, midfielder Delon Shankar, and striker Asivorosi Rabo, among others.

“We have lost key players who have joined the Pro League, and our striker and midfielder positions are our main concerns right now. It’s a problem, but we will be able to solve it. This is a new year, a new scenario for us, and as I mentioned earlier, we’ve lost a lot of boys. So to start off this season, CVC is here, and we want to defend our title,” Manu stated.

Rewa FC will kick off their match against Labasa at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori, with the game scheduled to begin at 3 PM. The team’s resilience and determination to defend their title will be put to the test as they navigate this season’s challenges.
