The Ministry of Health has reported that all seven individuals who fell ill after drinking a cocktail at the Warick Resort have now been transferred to Lautoka Hospital. Among those affected are four Australians, one American, and two foreigners living in Fiji.

Following their consumption of a cocktail from a resort bar, the group experienced symptoms including nausea, vomiting, and neurological issues. They were initially taken to Sigatoka Hospital but were later moved to Lautoka Hospital due to the severity of two patients’ conditions. Their ages range from 18 to 56 years old.

In light of this incident, Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has issued a travel advisory, cautioning Australians to remain vigilant regarding the potential dangers of drink spiking and methanol poisoning from alcoholic beverages.

This situation highlights the importance of being cautious when consuming drinks from unfamiliar locations. It serves as a vital reminder for travelers to prioritize their safety and well-being while enjoying their time abroad.

Overall, while the incident has raised concerns, the swift response from medical services demonstrates effective action and care for the affected individuals. The affected individuals are now receiving the necessary medical attention, which bodes well for their recovery.
