Independent Member of Parliament, Viliame Naupoto, has resigned from his position as the Opposition Whip.
Speaker of Parliament, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, confirmed the resignation in Parliament this morning.
Ratu Naiqama stated that he received correspondence from the Leader of Opposition, Inia Seruiratu, confirming Naupoto’s resignation.
In the meantime, Jone Usamate will temporarily assume the role of Opposition Whip until a permanent appointment is made.
