Rewa Football Club’s captain, Kavaia Rawaqa, is poised and ready to lead his team as they defend their title in the Pillay Garments Champions v Champions series against Labasa today. Riding high on the momentum from a successful first leg victory, the team is optimistic about their chances in the upcoming clash.

Rawaqa praised his teammates for their relentless work and dedication, particularly in light of the absence of key players who are currently participating in the Professional League. He highlighted the squad’s resilience, noting how new players have integrated seamlessly into the team dynamics. “In the first leg, the boys did really well, despite most of our brothers who are participating in the Professional League,” Rawaqa stated.

He expressed gratitude towards his teammates for the effort they have shown during training, as new players continue to adjust to the team’s style. As they prepare for the final leg of the championship, Rawaqa underscored the significance of thorough preparation and strategic planning. “The boys are confident; they have been working hard. Winning a tournament is easy, but defending it is hard, so we will be working on our game plans set during training and hoping for a good match against Labasa,” he added.

Rawaqa acknowledged the uniqueness of playing in Labasa, referring to the different atmosphere they will encounter. Nevertheless, he reassured fans that the team has been honing their physical and mental readiness for this crucial game and remains confident in securing a victory. As a captain, he recognizes the accompanying pressure but maintains a hopeful outlook for the team’s performance.

He also urged fans and supporters to come out in full force to cheer for the team at Subrails Park, where the match is scheduled to kick off at 1:30 PM. With a determined spirit and strong team unity, Rewa Football Club aims to continue their winning streak and defend their championship title successfully.
