The Ratu Navula Under-18 rugby team has declared a media blackout as they prepare for their eagerly awaited semifinal match against Queen Victoria School in the 2024 Vodafone Super Deans tournament. The game is scheduled to take place tomorrow at 5 PM at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
During a visit to the school yesterday to gather information about the team’s preparations, principal Jeremaia Lewaravu announced that the board has decided to limit media engagement during this critical time.
“Our school board is advising us not to speak to the media. We are continuing our regular preparations, and we will meet on Saturday,” Lewaravu stated.
This decision reflects the team’s intense focus as they aim to reclaim the Deans Trophy they last won in 2013, when they celebrated their inaugural victory led by notable players such as former Fiji 7s forward Vasikali Mudu.
The school’s rich rugby heritage and the pressure to succeed are growing as they approach this decisive match.
