Ratu Kadavulevu School’s inter-house competition kicked off with enthusiastic participation from budding athletes at the Lodoni ground in Tailevu. The event showcased a plethora of fresh talent, particularly in sub-junior and junior categories, creating an electrifying atmosphere fueled by a supportive crowd of parents and alumni.

Epeli Lagiloa, the tournament director, noted the event’s emphasis on enhancing performance in field events while securing favorable outcomes in track events. This year, Degei house, the defending champions, are determined to hold onto their title amidst the growing competition.

The competition is set to conclude today at 12:30 PM, featuring remaining events such as the 800m and 200m finals and various field events including the triple jump, long jump, javelin, and shot-put for senior boys.

This competition reflects a broader trend seen across Fijian schools, where inter-house and regional athletic events are fostering young talent. Similar events have emphasized community support and sportsmanship, setting a positive foundation for the future of athletics in Fiji. The continued encouragement of both participation and competition not only nurtures athletic skills but also builds camaraderie and school spirit among students.
