A prompt response by Southern Division officers led to the arrest of a 19-year-old man suspected of robbery after a woman reported that he had stolen her phone and personal belongings. The incident, which took place on Monday, was reported to the Colo-i-Suva Community Post.
When officers received the alert, they quickly called for backup from the Nasinu Police Station and the Police Dog Unit. Utilizing tracking technology from the woman’s partner’s mobile device, detectives were able to trace the stolen phone to Valelevu, where they apprehended the suspect and recovered the victim’s belongings.
The suspect has been charged with robbery and appeared in the Nasinu Magistrates Court, where he has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on February 26, 2025.
