Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has expressed strong confidence in the longevity of his coalition government, suggesting it can sustain itself for multiple terms. Speaking at the inauguration of the new Ministry of Sugar Industry and Multi-ethnic Affairs office in Labasa, he reiterated the administration’s dedication to serving the interests of all ethnic groups within the country.
Responding to recent critiques, Rabuka clarified misconceptions surrounding last week’s parliamentary voting, which some linked to an iTaukei nationalism trend. He firmly opposed this characterization, underscoring the coalition’s commitment to unity and understanding among its members as they work to address diverse interests and ensure inclusivity in governance.
In reinforcing his faith in the coalition’s durability, which includes partnerships with the Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) and the National Federation Party (NFP), Rabuka assured the public of ongoing support from these allies.
