Defending champions Queen Victoria School advanced to the semifinals of the Vodafone Deans U18 competition after edging Marist Brothers High School 13-6 in the final quarterfinal at HFC Bank Stadium today.
QVS got off to a strong start, scoring their first try in the 20th minute, followed by another just two minutes later. This quick scoring spree allowed them to take a 13-3 lead into halftime, putting Marist on the defensive.
In the second half, although QVS was unable to increase their score, Marist battled back with a penalty kick, narrowing the score to 13-6. Despite the pressure, QVS’s defense held strong, showcasing remarkable determination to maintain their lead.
Marist intensified their efforts in the final moments, but QVS’s steadfast defense prevented any further scoring by their opponents.
