Defending champions Queen Victoria School advanced to the semifinals of the Vodafone Deans U18 competition after defeating Marist Brothers High School 13-6 in the last quarterfinal match at the HFC Bank Stadium today.
QVS displayed a strong start by scoring their first try in the 20th minute, followed by another try just two minutes later. This rapid scoring gave them a 13-3 lead at halftime, placing Marist at a disadvantage.
In the second half, although QVS failed to score additional points as Marist improved their defense, the latter managed to narrow the gap with a penalty kick, making the score 13-6.
However, QVS’s defense held strong, demonstrating remarkable grit and determination to maintain their lead. Despite Marist’s aggressive attempts in the final moments, QVS successfully prevented any further scoring, securing their victory.
