To celebrate its 90th anniversary, Punjas has teamed up with the Ministry of Forestry to plant 9,000 mangrove seedlings along Wailoaloa Beach. This initiative highlights the company’s dedication to sustainability and the protection of Fiji’s coastal areas for future generations.

Rajesh Punja, Managing Director of Punjas Group, stated that sustainability has always been an integral part of the company’s operations. He remarked, “As we mark 90 years, we wanted to do something meaningful that gives back to the land and people who have been part of our journey. Mangroves protect our shores and support life.”

The planting was conducted by Punjas employees with assistance from the Ministry of Forestry, marking one of several significant events organized to acknowledge Punjas as a reliable brand in Fijian households for nearly a century. This mangrove project represents a commitment to a greener future and is part of a broader trend among companies in Fiji to actively engage in environmental stewardship.

Similar recent initiatives, such as those by the Motibhai Group and the Fiji Marriott Resort, demonstrate a growing consciousness among businesses regarding their environmental responsibilities. These collective efforts not only contribute to the immediate ecological needs but also foster a spirit of community and corporate social responsibility in Fiji.

Through endeavors like this, there is a hopeful outlook for sustainable practices, showcasing how businesses and communities can unite to preserve the environment for future generations.
