Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has implored the residents of Kadavu to maintain a watchful eye on officials to guarantee punctual execution of developmental projects. He apologized to them for the slow usage of funds meant for the province’s development, and admitted to the delays. He echoed the necessity for the island’s residents to remain abreast of the progress from the various government ministries pertaining to local projects.

Mr. Rabuka emphasized the residents’ right to hold the Government responsible, to ensure their respective communities continue to develop as intended. Further, he confirmed that any unused development funds from the previous financial year are still part of the Finance Ministry’s budget.

The Kadavu Provincial Council meeting, currently taking place at the Suva Civic Centre, concludes today.
