Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka emphasized the importance of open dialogue in addressing local and national issues during a meeting with the Savusavu business community. This assembly, held at the Savusavu Town Council chamber, focused on current concerns linked to the Copra Shed Marina and Nawi Island foreshore lease developments.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the business representatives’ participation and highlighted the significant discussions surrounding the Nakama Geothermal Canal and the recent removal of mooring at the Copra Shed Marina. He acknowledged the insights provided by government officials, which encapsulated critical legal, environmental, and investment perspectives.
Rabuka noted that responsible development is vital for sustainable economic growth, asserting, “This issue has been ongoing for some time now and I am thankful to personally visit the parties involved to hear from them. We support developments. We are listening, and we will ensure that all voices are heard.”
