Port Denarau Marina Awarded Eco-Friendly Certification

Fiji’s premier marina facility, Port Denarau Marina (PDM), has recently received the distinguished Clean Marina — Level 3 Fish Friendly Marina certification from the Marina Industries Association.

In a statement, PDM highlighted that this recognition solidifies their dedication to environmental stewardship and sustainable practices in marine operations.

“As Fiji’s premier marina destination, we take great pride in preserving the pristine beauty of our waters and marine ecosystems,” said PDM Chief Executive Officer Cynthia Rasch. “As we continue our efforts to protect our oceans for future generations, we express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported us on this journey.”

Last month, PDM announced a partnership with The International Seakeepers to advance marine conservation efforts by engaging private vessels in the South Pacific.

“Level 3 Clean Marina and Fish Friendly status by the Marina Industries Association (MIA) — the first of its kind in the South Pacific — highlights the marina’s leading role in environmental sustainability.”

Moreover, Port Denarau Marina has pledged to become a Plastic Free Marina by 2025, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to marine conservation.

“At Port Denarau Marina, our partnership with SeaKeepers and their sustainability efforts aligns perfectly with our mission to offer exceptional value to our guests while championing environmental stewardship. We are excited to support the Seabed 2030 Project’s goal to map the entire seafloor by 2030,” Ms. Rasch added.
