Former Ministers Kalaveti Ravu and Lynda Tabuya are poised for reinstatement as Cabinet or Deputy Ministers by the end of the week, as confirmed by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka during a press address outside Parliament. He indicated that their readmission is likely to occur soon, potentially as early as tomorrow.

Lynda Tabuya had previously been dismissed from her position as Minister for Women, Children, and Social Protection in the past year due to a public controversy linked to a private video. Last week, Prime Minister Rabuka stated that she could be a suitable candidate for the Ministry of Information.

On the other hand, Kalaveti Ravu faced legal issues with charges of abuse of office but was acquitted of any wrongdoing. Ravu had served as the Minister for Fisheries before his charges brought scrutiny.

The expected reinstatement of both figures highlights a potential shift in the government’s approach possibly aimed at bringing experienced individuals back into the fold after reviews of their circumstances. Their return may foster stability and experienced leadership as the government aims to navigate ongoing issues.

This development suggests a possible positive turn for the government’s cabinet, with Ravu and Tabuya’s anticipated roles promising fresh insights into their respective portfolios. Their reinstatement could symbolize a renewed commitment to accountability and responsive governance as Fiji continues to address pressing societal needs.
