Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police, Sakeo Raikaci, emphasized the need for enhanced performance among officers as they approach the year 2025. Speaking at the conclusion of a two-day joint back briefing for the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Police Prosecutions, ACP Raikaci highlighted the importance of this gathering for CID personnel, prosecution teams, divisional crime officers, crime scene investigators, and divisional police commanders to engage in discussions aimed at improving their service delivery.

He urged attendees to take the outcomes of the meeting seriously, stressing that they should not merely become another document that is forgotten on a shelf. “If we are committed to changing public perception with our corporate theme of ‘Sustaining Organisational Effectiveness,’ we must ensure that this focus translates into tangible results,” he stated.

Furthermore, Raikaci called upon department leaders, managers, and supervisors to elevate their efforts going forward. He reminded participants of the significant investments made in visitations, docket inspections, and verification, asserting that this expenditure must yield improved investigations, effective prosecutions, and enhanced service delivery. “Anything less amounts to a disservice in our roles and an unfaithfulness to our oath of service,” he concluded.

This call to action reflects an overarching commitment to excellence in policing and a proactive approach to community safety, suggesting that with dedicated effort and focus, the police department can significantly enhance public perception and trust moving into the new year.

As the police force gears up for the challenges ahead, their commitment to accountability and continuous improvement shines a hopeful light on the future of community policing.
