Three police officers and two civilians accused of tampering with methamphetamine evidence at the Totogo Police Station in Suva will return to court next year. Officers Roy Seinibici, Inoke Tikomaimalevani, and Samisoni Ralulu, along with civilians Anare Buresolei and Anare Buresolei Vulaki, face charges of interfering with evidence.

The alleged incident took place between February 9 and 10, 2023, when the accused are believed to have either aided or abetted in tampering with the seized drugs during a police operation by the Southern Division.

The case was set to begin but was adjourned by Suva Senior Magistrate Sufia Hamza. The charges have been formally approved by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. The accused individuals are now scheduled to reappear in court on January 14, 2025.

This case highlights ongoing concerns regarding integrity within law enforcement. While the situation remains serious, it also underscores the legal system’s processes in addressing allegations of misconduct, illustrating the importance of accountability.
