Police officers at the Kulukulu Community Post in Sigatoka have launched a program aimed at engaging children from Vunavutu during the school holidays. The initiative includes guest speakers, art and craft instructors, and village elders who will educate the children about their traditional roles and cultural heritage.
The primary goal of this program is to keep children from engaging in undesirable activities that could lead to criminal behavior. The program has been coordinated by Police Constables Onikisa Tuicakau and Emosi Vucago, in collaboration with local leaders, including Turaga-ni-Koro Emitai Leweniikataga and Vunivola ni Koro, Tia Naqiolevu.
This initiative highlights the proactive steps being taken by the police and community leaders to promote positive youth engagement and cultural awareness during the school break.
In a world where youth are often vulnerable to negative influences, programs like this provide a supportive environment for children to learn and grow. By fostering a sense of community and cultural pride, these initiatives can help build a safer and more nurturing atmosphere for future generations.
Overall, this program is a commendable effort to guide young minds in a constructive direction, ensuring a brighter future for the children of Vunavutu.
