The Public Service Commission has announced the withdrawal of Pita Wise’s appointment as the ‘Head of Mission’ in Japan. This decision follows significant criticism from the Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre and the Fiji Women’s Rights Movement regarding his earlier nomination.
Pita Wise had previously resigned from his role as Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office last month. He had held the position since January of the previous year and had served as Permanent Secretary under the previous government as well.
