Peggy Ravusiro has been crowned Miss Fiji 2025, concluding a vibrant three-day national pageant that celebrated leadership, service, and unity among young women across the country. Ravusiro, a recent graduate from medical school who is now a qualified doctor, also received the Best Research Topic Presentation award, highlighting the pageant’s focus on intellect and advocacy alongside beauty.
Emerging triumphantly from a competitive field, Ravusiro’s achievement marks a significant personal milestone, particularly as she was a first runner-up in a previous pageant. She expressed her emotions and shared memories of her resilience, stating, “Only God makes that kind of story. Healing will always start with forgiveness. That has definitely been my journey.”
The pageant also recognized the accomplishments of other contestants, with Miss Nasinu Ailava Samuels taking the title of First Runner-Up, followed by Miss Suva Rhyelle Aisea as Second Runner-Up, Miss Rakiraki Shrdha Mala as Third Runner-Up, and Miss Nausori Bernadeta Waqavanua finishing Fourth Runner-Up. Additional special awards were given to highlight various talents, with Miss Suva winning both Miss Internet and Best Sarong, while Miss Nasinu received honors for Miss Photogenic and Best Traditional Attire. Miss Nadi was recognized for Miss Personality, and Miss Rakiraki won Best Talent.
Minister for Local Government Maciu Nalumisa praised all participants for their influence on the youth, urging them to inspire others regardless of the pageant results. “To the new Miss Fiji, live with humility, speak with purpose and serve with heart,” he advised.
Reigning Miss Pacific Islands, Litara Ieremia-Allan, further accentuated the theme of unity expressed by the contestants. She noted their ability to transcend differences, promoting togetherness as a valuable lesson for the wider Pacific community.
Looking ahead, Ravusiro is set to represent Fiji in the Miss Pacific Pageant in February next year, where she will bring her advocacy and commitment to a regional audience. This pageant represents not only a chance for personal accomplishment but serves as a platform to advocate for and inspire young women across Fiji and the Pacific.
