This Friday, the prestigious Miss Cakaudrove Youth title will be awarded at Narain Park in Savusavu, highlighted by a stunning crown crafted from 59 pearls. According to Aubrey Whippy, the coordinator of the Cakaudrove Multi-Ethnic Youth and Sports Festival carnival, a total of 14 contestants from 12 different districts are competing for both the Miss Cakaudrove Youth and Miss Charity titles.
The festivities will kick off today with a parade starting at the Savusavu Court House, making its way to Narain Park. The closing ceremony for the pageant is slated for Friday evening, beginning at 3 PM, culminating with the crowning of Miss Cakaudrove Youth and Miss Charity at 7 PM, alongside the chief guest, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka.
Mr. Whippy expressed gratitude to J Hunter Pearls for creating the exquisite crown and to Shane Bower for donating the Miss Charity crown. The four-day program promises an evening filled with entertainment and is designed to raise crucial funds that will support youth development initiatives in the Cakaudrove region. Entry to the park will be free, making this event particularly accessible since it marks the inaugural program organized by the Cakaudrove Youth Provincial Council.
This celebration of youth and talent not only offers a platform for young women to shine but also underscores the importance of community involvement and the support of local businesses in fostering development opportunities. It’s an event that promises to unite the community and inspire future generations.
In summary, the Miss Cakaudrove Youth pageant is set to be a significant event with a focus on youth empowerment and cultural celebration, marking a hopeful beginning for ongoing initiatives within the Cakaudrove community.
