Parliament was adjourned earlier today due to an unexpected power outage in the capital. Speaker Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu announced the adjournment at 3:05 PM, explaining that the outage disrupted the automatic recording capabilities of the ITC (Information Technology & Computing) system.
He stated, “As a result, the system cannot broadcast and the FTR (For the Record) cannot record as well. That is how the Hansard team records all that is said and done for our future records.”
The House is scheduled to reconvene tomorrow at 9:30 AM.
