A Nadi-based technology and marketing firm has unveiled a new integration that will give Pacific tour and activity operators immediate access to major global online travel marketplaces — without the usual monthly digital channel fees. Counterpoint Group said the innovation links Nabooki’s online booking management platform to Bókun’s global distribution network, allowing operators to distribute and manage offerings through one interface.

Counterpoint Group, which specialises in supporting Pacific businesses with technology and software platforms, said the connection enables operators to list tours and activities directly on established online travel agencies including Viator (Tripadvisor), GetYourGuide, Expedia, Trip.com and Klook. The company described the integration as removing a common barrier for small operators: upfront subscription costs for channel management tools and aggregators.

Commercially, the integration is structured around a success-based pricing model. Counterpoint said there is no upfront investment required to enable the Bókun link within an operator’s existing Nabooki management platform; instead operators will pay a nominal 0.95 percent booking fee to Bókun when a sale is made. The Group framed the move as eliminating what it called the upfront “tech tax” that erodes margins for local operators.

“Running a tour business in the Pacific is hard enough without being hit by high monthly software subscriptions to attract more customers,” Counterpoint Group said in a statement. “Our goal was to bring a solution that respects the margins of local operators, that effectively enables a wider global distribution footprint — but the only fee occurs when you get paid. It’s that simple.”

Counterpoint also highlighted the practical benefits: operators can manage inventory, bookings and distribution from Nabooki’s single interface while enjoying instant market reach through Bókun’s marketplace and partner OTAs. For many small and family-run operators across Fiji and the wider Pacific, that could shorten the time and reduce the cost involved in engaging with global booking channels.

The announcement comes as digital adoption and connectivity improve across Fiji and the region, a trend amplified by recent government and private sector moves to modernise services and telecommunications. Counterpoint positioned the integration as reinforcing its commitment to “bridging the digital gap between Pacific Island experiences and the global travel market,” a framing likely to resonate with tourism-dependent businesses seeking post-pandemic recovery and growth.

The new service is the latest example of locally developed tech solutions aimed at exporting Pacific tourism products to wider audiences while attempting to preserve operator margins. Counterpoint’s approach — shifting to pay-per-success rather than fixed monthly fees — aligns platform costs with revenue flow but will also introduce per-booking charges that operators must weigh against potential increases in sales volume and exposure.
