TOWER Insurance recently convened its country managers from Tonga, Samoa, American Samoa, and the Cook Islands, alongside team members from New Zealand, including top executives, for the 2025 Pacific Leadership Summit in Suva. The gathering, which spanned a week, focused on crucial discussions surrounding leadership development, business planning, and strategies to support a vibrant and resilient future in the Pacific region.

Andrew Hambleton, Tower’s Chief Administrative Officer, emphasized the company’s commitment to collaboration through its advanced technology platform, aimed at enhancing customer support across its international markets. The summit served as a launchpad for the new Fiji Talent Acceleration Program, designed to cultivate high-performing staff identified as potential future leaders within the company.

Hambleton noted, “The Pacific Leadership Summit provided the perfect backdrop to launch this program, blending our current leadership team with our aspiring leaders.” The commitment to developing homegrown talent is evident, especially as Tower Insurance employs over 300 individuals in Fiji.

Managers at the summit also engaged in discussions to adapt products to better serve the Pacific markets. Recent innovations include the introduction of My Tower, a pioneering insurance platform that allows customers to manage their policies, claims, and payments online. Additionally, the company has rolled out Cyclone Response Cover in Fiji, which offers rapid cash payouts in the event of a cyclone, with plans to introduce a new parametric rainfall product later this year.

Tower Insurance has a rich history in Fiji, having commenced operations in 1874 and expanding into a multi-branch operation. Last year marked a significant milestone, celebrating 150 years in Fiji with the inauguration of a new hub in Suva, awarding scholarships to promising students, and receiving the Employer of the Year Award at the Fiji Prime Minister’s International Business Awards.

The summit not only showcases Tower’s commitment to growth and leadership in the Pacific but also highlights the ongoing dedication to the communities it serves, nurturing future leaders who will contribute to the region’s prosperity.

This initiative represents hope for sustained development across the Pacific, affirming the importance of local talent and innovative solutions in the insurance sector.
