Australian boxer Lachlan O’Shea is set to enter the ring tomorrow to compete against Fiji’s celebrated boxing star, Winston Hill, for the IBO Super Welter Asia Pacific title. The highly awaited event will take place in Nadi, organized by South Pacific Boxing Promotion.
O’Shea shared his enthusiasm about fighting in such a beautiful setting. He acknowledges the challenge posed by Hill, who has an impressive track record, including participation in the Olympics. “I’m ready to put on a great performance against Fijian champion Winston Hill, so looking forward to it,” O’Shea commented. He respects Hill’s capabilities, stating, “I know Hill is a tough guy, he made the Olympics and all that, so I was definitely taking this fight seriously. I know he is a great warrior, so I definitely trained my hearts out to last for the 10 rounds with him.”
With a commitment to showcasing his skills, O’Shea emphasized his determination to deliver a standout performance. “I’m looking forward to giving my full performance for the 10 rounds. Come fight night, you will see a lot of my skills. Normally I have been chasing people around, but I won’t have to chase Hill; we will be having a war in the ring. It will be an exciting match.”
In addition to this main event, the card will feature three international title fights and one local title fight, marking the first of its kind in the Pacific region. The international bouts include O’Shea facing Hill for the IBO Asia Pacific Super Welterweight title, Sebastian Singh competing against Tongotongo for the IBO Asia Pacific Cruiserweight title, and Ubayd Haider battling China’s Runqi Zhou for the IBO Asia Pacific Featherweight title. Local fighters Siliveni Nawai and Jonathan Pedro Hill will compete for the Fijian Super Middleweight title.
