In response to these events, Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) chief executive Mohammed Yusuf issued a stern warning against those disseminating false or misleading information online. He emphasized the necessity of protecting the integrity of football in Fiji and indicated that individuals spreading defamatory content will face stringent disciplinary actions and potential legal repercussions.
“Fiji FA remains committed to safeguarding the integrity of football in our country. We urge all stakeholders to rely on official communication channels and to refrain from sharing unverified information,” Yusuf stated.
The police affirmed that their investigations into the suspicious online activities are ongoing, highlighting a proactive stance from authorities to address harassment issues in sports. This reflects a growing commitment to ensure that the sporting environment remains safe and respectful for all participants.
