The Fiji Airways men’s 7s rugby team is gearing up to face tough competition at the Vancouver 7s, with head coach Osea Kolinisau focused on navigating each match strategically. As they prepare for the tournament, Kolinisau emphasizes the importance of learning from past mistakes and approaching each opponent with caution.

Fiji finds itself in a challenging Pool B alongside Australia, Argentina, and France—familiar rivals from the 2025/26 HSBC Sevens World Series. Recognizing the significance of each game, Kolinisau stated, “What we’re doing right now is looking at our mistakes and taking one game at a time.” The team has prioritized correcting errors that have previously cost them victories, ensuring they maximize their performance on the field.

Kolinisau has expressed high regard for their opponents, especially Argentina and France, acknowledging their past victories over Fiji in earlier legs of the series. “We cannot overlook any team or assume it’s going to be easy. Our plan has always been to take one game at a time, because every game is a part of the plan,” he noted.

The Vancouver 7s tournament will kick off on Saturday, with semifinals and finals taking place on Sunday. As the Fiji team moves forward, their commitment to preparation and respect for their opponents serves as a hopeful reminder of their potential to perform well under pressure.
