Olivia Dean continues to rise in prominence, highlighted by her recent musical accomplishments and award nominations. The talented singer is poised to take the stage at the upcoming Mobo Awards, where she is expected to deliver a captivating performance. This year’s event will take place at Manchester’s Co-op Live on March 26, marking a significant moment as it is the first time the ceremony will be held at this location.

Kanya King, the founder and CEO of the Mobo Awards, expressed her excitement about the lineup, showcasing artists who embody “bold, brilliant” talent deeply rooted in creativity. Joining Olivia Dean on stage will be the R&B girl group Flo and the renowned Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage, contributing to what promises to be an unforgettable night.

As the event celebrates its 30th anniversary, it’s poised to honor black music in the UK and beyond. Olivia Dean’s album, “The Art Of Loving,” is nominated for four awards, including the prestigious Album of the Year. She faces tough competition from Flo, who are nominated for their debut album “Access All Areas,” as well as Little Simz, whose album “Lotus” also boasts four nominations.

Other notable contenders for Album of the Year include jazz quintet Ezra Collective with “Dance, No One’s Watching,” Kojey Radical’s “Don’t Look Down,” and Central Cee’s “Can’t Rush Greatness.” The list of nominees also features emerging artists like Kwn and Jim Legxacy, alongside established names such as PinkPantheress and Skepta, both of whom have received multiple nominations.

Eve, a notable hip-hop star known for classics like “Let Me Blow Ya Mind,” is excited about her co-hosting debut, joining comedian Eddie Kadi, who is back for his third year.

With more performers and honorees set to be announced, the Mobo Awards promises to be a significant celebration of talent and creativity. This exciting lineup highlights the strength and diversity present in the music scene, making the upcoming event one to watch.
