Police officers in the Northern Division have been called upon to maintain professionalism and enhance their community engagement efforts. This important reminder came from Senior Superintendent of Police Kemueli Baledrokadroka during the division’s parade held on December 17.
SSP Baledrokadroka emphasized that contemporary policing goes beyond merely enforcing laws and responding to emergencies. He pointed out that officers often find themselves in sensitive and high-pressure environments where offering guidance and reassurance is just as critical as enforcing the law.
The divisional commander stressed that community policing remains a vital strategy for addressing crime, particularly through tackling its root causes. He noted that reliable and consistent police services are essential for fostering cooperation from the public.
Furthermore, SSP Baledrokadroka encouraged officers to show commitment and enthusiasm in their roles, suggesting that improved performance and teamwork will help rebuild public trust and confidence in the police force. He concluded with a call for the division to gain operational momentum and collaborate effectively to achieve better outcomes for the community.
This emphasis on professionalism and community engagement highlights the police force’s recognition of the importance of building positive relationships with the public, ultimately aiming for a safer and more cohesive community.
