Bula FC’s head coach, Stéphane Auvray, is optimistic about his team’s performance at the start of the new season, despite the squad currently sitting just outside the top four after experiencing a narrow loss and a draw in their first two matches. Auvray expressed satisfaction with the team’s early showings, especially given that they commenced the season without any prior friendly matches and are still in the process of discovering their playing style and team identity.
In assessing the team’s overall performance, Auvray commented, “I assess the overall performance of the team as a good one. We started preseason with no guarantees, no playing style, and no identity at all.” He noted that the progress displayed in the initial outings has surpassed his expectations at this point in their development, while acknowledging that much work remains ahead.
“What we’ve shown in the first two games, without having any friendly games to prepare, was for me a good satisfaction. Are we there yet? No. Do we have much more to work on? Definitely,” he admitted.
As Bula FC prepares for their upcoming match against Solomon Kings, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. tomorrow, Auvray emphasized the importance of improvement in all aspects of the game. He highlighted the necessity for the squad to establish consistency as they move through the season.
“Every area needs improvement. We’re just getting started. We’ve done some good things, but the question is, can we be consistent and do it over and over again?” he stated. Although fluctuations in performance are expected in football, Auvray is hopeful that by maintaining steady progress, the team will be able to address specific areas needing enhancement gradually.
Fans can look forward to watching the match live on FBC 2, as Bula FC continues its journey to refine their game and foster team cohesion.
