The Fiji Roads Authority has announced the temporary closure of Nausori’s Main Street from 8 PM to 5 AM, starting today and continuing until August 25, weather permitting. The closure will take place from the Nausori Police Station to Cakobau House as part of upgrade works that will be executed in stages.

Motorists and business owners are advised against parking along the affected street during this period and are encouraged to plan their travel to prevent delays. Traffic controllers and signage will be implemented to ensure safety and manage the flow of traffic during these night-time works.

This initiative echoes the Fiji Roads Authority’s ongoing commitment to improving infrastructure for safer and more efficient transportation in the community. Past articles have highlighted similar efforts in the Suva area and Nausori, where major road improvements were conducted to enhance road safety and operational efficiency. While road closures can lead to temporary inconveniences, they are essential for long-term benefits for residents and travelers in the region.

In light of these efforts, it is hoped that the upgrades will foster a better travel experience and contribute to a more robust infrastructure network in Fiji, ensuring smoother journeys for all road users in the future.
