A nightclub bouncer linked to a violent altercation in Suva has been apprehended by the police. Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, confirmed that law enforcement officials are actively identifying additional individuals associated with the incident and are continuing their search for others involved.

Driu urged the public to refrain from taking matters into their own hands, emphasizing the importance of allowing the police to fulfill their duties. He remarked, “All those making threats on social media need to stay calm. Emotions are still high at the moment, and we are calling on parties involved to try and remain calm. Taking matters into your own hands won’t resolve anything; it will only make things worse.”

Police teams from the Totogo Police Station were present in Namatakula Village gathering statements from those involved and witnesses to the incident. Driu encouraged those involved to cooperate with the investigation, highlighting the need for patience as the police conduct their inquiries.

To maintain order, the police will keep a close watch on social media activity and remain prepared to intervene if necessary. As the New Year approaches, ACP Driu assured the public that police presence will be heightened to ensure community safety.

This situation underscores the importance of community cooperation and social responsibility in addressing conflicts. By allowing law enforcement to address such matters, individuals can contribute positively to the overall safety and well-being of their community.

In summary, an arrest has been made following a nightclub brawl in Suva, with police urging calm and cooperation from the public as they work to resolve the incident. The police’s proactive stance is a reassuring commitment to community safety as the New Year approaches.
