Final paving works on the Rewa Bridge are set to commence tonight, leading to temporary lane closures. The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has announced that the Nausori-bound lane will undergo asphalting from 8 PM until 5 AM the following morning. To accommodate safe operations, both lanes heading towards Nausori between the Lelean and Wainibokasi roundabouts will close.

Traffic will still be able to flow in the Suva direction, with traffic controllers and signage in place to ensure motorists can navigate the area safely. The FRA indicated that the paving work had been postponed due to adverse weather conditions that impacted asphalting efforts in November last year.

The Authority has cautioned that the completion timeline for the project is contingent on weather conditions, which may lead to rescheduling if necessary. Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly, exercise patience, and adhere to traffic directions.

These upgrades are aimed at enhancing the safety of the bridge and delivering a smoother driving experience for all users.
