The Ministry of Finance has successfully transitioned to a new payroll system after four decades of using the previous setup, which led to a slight delay in the processing of civil service salaries originally due on Thursday, January 9th.

In an official statement, the Ministry confirmed that while most civil servants received their pay on time, some experienced minor delays in the transfer of funds to their bank accounts. However, the transition to the new system has been completed, promising greater efficiency, improved controls, and enhanced data security moving forward. All initial challenges encountered during this first payroll run of the year have been addressed.

This development marks a significant modernization effort by the government and reflects a commitment to improving overall administrative processes. With the new system in place, civil servants can look forward to more streamlined payroll processing and better financial management in the future.
