The Sugar Cane Growers Fund (SCGF) has introduced a loyalty program aimed at enhancing the benefits for productive sugar cane growers in the country. This initiative is designed to provide additional value through collaboration with key service and product partners, thereby enriching the lives of ordinary growers.

Ahemad Bhamji, the chairperson of SCGF, emphasized that the program’s distinctive feature is that participation does not require growers to be existing customers of SCGF. The fund has reached out to various service and product providers, including those dealing in farm machinery, contractors, hardware, medical services, furniture, and telecommunications. These partners are committed to offering discounts ranging from 2% to 10% upon presenting the new loyalty card, which could translate into substantial savings for the growers.

Moreover, SCGF is in talks with two petroleum companies to expand the benefits available through this program, with the goal of incorporating more partners. Notably, there will be no membership fee for growers during the first three years.

The program is specifically available to registered productive cane growers, who collectively number over 10,500. Bhamji pointed out that this collective size enhances their purchasing power, enabling them to access more favorable deals.

The loyalty card initiative, developed with the assistance of GEM IT, is set to launch on December 15, promising to be a significant advantage for those involved in sugar cane production.

This program not only illustrates SCGF’s commitment to supporting the agricultural sector but also highlights how collaboration can lead to tangible benefits for farmers. It’s a hopeful step towards improving the livelihood of cane growers and fostering a more sustainable agricultural community.
