New Leadership for Fiji’s Telecommunications Authority: Meet Prit Chand

Prit Chand has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of the Telecommunications Authority of Fiji, effective August 5. This appointment represents a significant achievement for TAF.

Chand brings nearly 21 years of experience in the telecommunications sector, during which he has held various leadership positions and played a key role in fostering innovation and strategic growth within the local market. His vast knowledge in network planning, project management, and strategic development is expected to be vital in progressing TAF’s goals of improving connectivity and digital inclusion throughout Fiji.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Manoa Kamikamica, has recognized the efforts of the new TAF Board in successfully selecting the incoming CEO. Prior to his role at TAF, Chand served as the Manager of Planning, Projects & Strategy at Telecom Fiji Pte Ltd.

In his new position, Chand will manage all facets of TAF’s operations, which includes regulatory oversight, the development and review of regulatory policies, and engaging with stakeholders. He will also lead initiatives focused on expanding universal service access, enhancing service quality, and encouraging innovation within the telecommunications industry.
