Labasa defender Unaisi Tuberi has been appointed as the captain of the first-ever Digicel Fiji Women’s Futsal team. The 30-year-old from Nadogo brings extensive experience to the position, having previously served as captain of the Fiji Kulas.
Head coach Jerry Sam commended Tuberi’s leadership capabilities, noting her significant knowledge of the game as a valuable asset to the team. “You can see Tuberi standing out during training; she has leadership qualities and can quickly organize herself and communicate with the players. That’s very important in futsal because we need someone like that to guide the team,” said Sam.
Tuberi will be supported by Naomi Waqanidrola, a former Kulas representative and current Rewa Women’s player.
