Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Thursday that Israel aims to take full control of the Gaza Strip to eliminate Hamas, while plans are discussed to eventually transfer the territory’s administration to allied Arab forces. As the Security Cabinet met to consider expanding the ongoing military offensive, concerns emerged regarding the potential risks to the lives of both the remaining Israeli hostages and countless Palestinians.
Currently, Israel controls approximately three-quarters of the Gaza territory, which has faced significant devastation. Families of the hostages, some of whom protested outside the meeting, fear that increased military action could jeopardize their loved ones’ safety.
