The Nadi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NCCI) is set to appoint new office bearers and amend its Constitution during the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for next Friday. NCCI President Lawrence Kumar emphasized the importance of reviewing the Constitution, which has remained unchanged for several years.

With approximately 260 members, the AGM serves as a platform for not only electing office bearers but also for reviewing financial reports and both the president’s and secretary’s reports. Kumar stated that these reports will be discussed publicly during the meeting, allowing for transparency and collective agreement among members.

The agenda will include the election of key positions for the 2026 and 2027 terms, which encompasses a new president, two vice presidents, a treasurer, a secretary, and ten council members who will form part of the NCCI board. Kumar noted a growing interest among members to not only join the organization but also to take on roles at the board level, reflecting a vibrant and engaged community.

As part of the AGM, a social networking event will take place from 7 PM to 9 PM at the Blue Light hotel on Nadi Back Road, fostering connections among members. This gathering signifies the commitment of the NCCI to be a vocal advocate for its members and the Fijian populace as a whole.

Overall, the upcoming AGM represents a promising opportunity for NCCI members to influence the direction of the organization while fostering a sense of community among local businesses.
