Construction has commenced on 400 to 500 two-bedroom homes in Nepani, Nasinu, as part of the government’s initiative to tackle the escalating demand for housing. The Ministry of Housing has reported receiving over 30,000 applications for housing in Nasinu, reflecting the critical need for affordable housing options in the area.

Felix Magnus, the Chair of the Nasinu Town Council, emphasized that the Nepani development is intended as low-cost housing, making it accessible to ordinary families. He stated, “This is one of the housing developments by the Housing Authority and overseen by the Nasinu Town Council. And this is low-cost housing that people can afford.”

Priority for these homes will be given to young people and families residing in nearby communities such as Veiraisi, Nadawa, and Moala. The project not only aims to provide much-needed housing but also seeks to generate employment and stimulate local economic activity. Expected to be completed by mid-year, this development signifies a positive step towards addressing housing shortages and enhancing quality of life for many families in the region.
