A coordinated operation involving a joint taskforce has successfully targeted a well-known business in Namaka, leading to the seizure of 250 assorted flavored vape products. This significant enforcement action was led by the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service, in collaboration with the Fiji Police Force, the Nadi Health Office, and the Tobacco Control and Enforcement Unit.

The raid came in response to allegations that the business had been importing and distributing vaping products without the necessary license from the Ministry of Health. This underscores the government’s commitment to regulating the tobacco and vaping industry more effectively.

The Ministry of Health stated that this operation is part of a broader national initiative aimed at cracking down on illegal tobacco and vaping activities throughout Fiji. Investigations are currently ongoing, and the Ministry indicated that charges related to the unlawful importation and unlicensed sales will be established once the inquiry is completed.

This proactive measure not only addresses public health concerns but also emphasizes the importance of compliance with national regulations surrounding tobacco and vaping products. Authorities are determined to ensure that consumer safety remains a priority as they continue their efforts in this area.
