Nakasi Police FC from Rewa is set to compete in the eagerly awaited Cecil’s National Regional Club Championship (NCC) 2024, taking place at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori today. Established in 1999, the club has established itself as a pillar in the Rewa Regional League’s Super Premier division, remarkably avoiding relegation for 25 consecutive years.
The team is known for its resilience and is eager to pursue success in this prestigious tournament. Club president and player, Peter Cecil, expressed the team’s excitement, stating, “Preparations are good, and everyone is looking forward to the tournament.” The squad includes a blend of seasoned players and promising youth, despite the absence of key players like John Orubulo and Madhwan Goundar this year.
Cecil highlighted the team’s impressive performance, affirming they have remained undefeated in the regional league due to the dedication of players and community involvement. With local players and police officers making up the roster, Nakasi Police FC fosters unity, discipline, and growth in the sport, offering competitive experience even to its youngest members, aged just 11 and 13.
