Salamisa Batimala, a representative of the Nadroga Rugby Union, has expressed optimism about a new partnership with local filmmaking entity New Fossil Productions. This collaboration is set to create a documentary series that will follow Nadroga’s efforts to defend the Skipper Cup in the upcoming season.

The series aims to provide an in-depth look at the team’s preparation, highlighting their sacrifices, dedication, and the hard work involved as they strive to elevate the rugby reputation of Sigatoka. Batimala is particularly hopeful that this initiative will create significant opportunities for local players, especially aspiring rugby athletes from the province.

“This will open many doors, especially for our young sons and daughters who have just finished school and are looking to play rugby,” Batimala stated. He emphasized gratitude for the partnership, which he believes could pave the way for brighter futures for the youth in the community.

Moreover, Batimala noted that the documentary aims to enhance the visibility of Nadroga’s players, potentially attracting scouts and facilitating opportunities beyond Fiji. The production is slated to commence filming as soon as next week, marking an exciting new chapter for the rugby union and its community.

This innovative project not only shines a light on the sport in the region but also creates pathways for local talent to gain recognition. With the documentary set to capture the essence of Nadroga rugby, there is hope that it will inspire a new generation of athletes.
