The Nadroga Football team is gearing up for the BiC Fiji FACT tournament, kicking off tomorrow at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. Under the guidance of head coach Varoon Karan, the team is set to compete in pool B, facing off against some formidable opponents including Labasa, Nadi, and the host team, Suva.

Karan expressed optimism regarding the team’s preparations, stating, “Preparations for the team have been going well, with the weather cooperating. This week, we have focused on improving ball possession.” He acknowledges the strength of their competition, remarking that “no team will be easy” and emphasizing the need to approach each match with determination.

The coach believes that performing well in their opening match is crucial. He said, “First match is always the important match; we need to focus on the first match and do well, then let us take it step by step.” Fortunately, Nadroga enters the tournament injury-free and at full strength, which is a significant boost as they look to make a strong impression.

In addition to the excitement surrounding Nadroga, the tournament promises to showcase Fijian football at its finest, with intense competition anticipated across all matches. The group stages will unfold from May 30 to June 1, leading to semi-finals and finals scheduled for June 7-8. This year’s competition not only highlights established teams like Lautoka and Rewa, but also allows emerging talents to shine, further enriching the football scene in Fiji.

Fans are encouraged to come out in strong numbers to support their teams, fostering a sense of community pride and enthusiasm throughout the tournament. Excitement is high, and as the matches unfold, there will be ample opportunities for thrilling moments and memorable performances on the field.

This year’s BiC Fiji FACT tournament signifies a lively celebration of football, uniting teams and communities while providing a platform for players to showcase their skills and passion for the sport.
