This year’s Battle of the Giants (BOG) tournament carries special significance for Nadroga FC as it marks the farewell of their long-serving president, Max Chetty, who will be stepping into a new role on the Fiji Football Association’s executive board post-tournament. Coach Varun Karan emphasizes the importance of a strong start, stating that a good performance in their opening match can alleviate pressure on the team.

Nadroga’s first challenge will be against the defending champions, Lautoka, a match that Karan recognizes as particularly tough. The Stallions will field a blend of experienced players along with newcomers, including Vanuatu’s Jack Tokaki and Solomon Islands’ Steven Koti, both of whom have been working hard in training to integrate seamlessly into the squad.

Nadroga’s schedule for the tournament includes matches against Lautoka tomorrow at 2 pm, Extra Supermarket Labasa at 5 pm on Saturday, and Dayals Sawmillers Ba at 12 pm on Sunday.

The event not only highlights the competitive spirit of Fijian football but also anticipates the integration of new talents, enabling teams to showcase their skills and determination. As fans rally behind their teams, the BOG is set to foster community pride and excitement throughout the matches.

With the farewell of a long-time leader and the introduction of fresh talent, Nadroga FC is looking forward to an inspiring tournament.
