The UB40 concert in Nadi on Friday concluded successfully, marked by an incident-free atmosphere, with no arrests or drug seizures recorded. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Iakobo Vaisewa attributed this achievement to rigid enforcement of regulations and strong community cooperation.

SSP Vaisewa noted the effectiveness of their security strategy, which included a significant police presence, comprising over 70 officers deployed to manage event operations. Specialized units, including canine teams, were stationed at entry points to ensure safety. “It was an incident-free concert, no confiscations or drugs found, because we were very strict,” he remarked.

The police were not only focused on the concert arena but also monitored surrounding entertainment areas, ensuring a comprehensive approach to maintaining order during the event. SSP Vaisewa praised the public for their commendable behavior throughout the concert, expressing gratitude for the community’s growing awareness of their responsibilities.

This successful concert not only highlighted the collaborative efforts of law enforcement and the community but also showcased Nadi’s ability to host major international acts safely.
