Police have enhanced security measures in preparation for the highly anticipated UB40 concert at King Charles Park in Nadi, scheduled for later today. Divisional Police Commander for the Western Division, SSP Iakobo Vaisewa, has assured the public that law enforcement is fully prepared to maintain safety and ensure the event proceeds without any incidents.

“We are preparing for it, and we aim to ensure it is an incident – and crime-free concert,” SSP Vaisewa stated. To bolster security efforts, specialized police units, including the K9 unit, will be on-site, equipped with modern surveillance technologies.

Additionally, police will implement strict searches at entry points and conduct spot checks on individuals deemed suspicious. Concert-goers have been warned against engaging in illegal activities, particularly those related to alcohol consumption.

An increased police presence is anticipated not only at the concert venue but also throughout Nadi Town, Namaka, and along the Lautoka corridor, aiming to create a safe environment for all attendees. The proactive measures taken by law enforcement reflect a commitment to public safety, ensuring a positive experience for fans gathering to enjoy the performance.
