The Matua Programme at Nabua Secondary School, located just outside Suva, is making a remarkable impact on its students’ lives. As the only program of its kind in Fiji, the Matua Programme has been operational for the past two decades, enabling hundreds of adult students to complete their secondary education and advance to tertiary studies.
Recently, over 42 students celebrated their graduation, including Lusiana Turaga, who shared how the programme motivated them to pursue their educational aspirations. She expressed that it reignited her hopes for the future.
“It was quite fitting that we had students from diverse backgrounds, which was a new experience for me,” Ms. Turaga noted.
